- Ingredients:
- Premade gelatin dessert (like 12 oz package of Jello)
- 1.5 Ounces unflavored gelatin powder
- Water (or a clear juice for more intense flavor)
- Neutral cooking oil (like canola) for greasing
- Procedure:
- Bloom the gelatin powder in cold water.
- Boil half the required water (or juice), then dissolve the Jello and extra gelatin in it.
- Add the remaining cold water (or juice).
- Grease the mold lightly with oil.
- Pour the mixture into the mold, remove any foam, and refrigerate.
Additionally, you can adjust the quantity of gelatin for desired firmness and add sugar or juice in place of water if you prefer a sweeter taste.
If you can find a Haribo Goldbear Shape Box 450g this makes an excellent low cost mold (that comes with Gummy Bears), but they are not very widely available in the US. There are giant gummy bear silicone molds, which are easier for demolding, available on amazon.
